US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Monday that he did not expect a decision by four Arab nations to sever ties with Qatar to affect the fight against terrorism – in the region or globally – but urged them to address their differences. Yemen followed Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain in cutting ties with Qatar, accusing the emirate of working with the Iran-aligned Houthi rebels, as well as other extremist groups. Saudi Arabia has expelled Qatar from its military ranks in Yemen.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s spokesman tweeted Monday: “The era of cutting diplomatic ties and closing borders… is no way to resolve crisis… aggression and occupation will have no results but instability.”

Pakistan has no plans to cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, the country’s Foreign Ministry said.
