A Russian warplane on a bombing mission above the city of Al-Bab in northern Syria fired by mistake at a building where Turkish troops were staying on Thursday. Three of the soldiers were killed and 11 others were wounded. Russian President Vladimir Putin called his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan to express sorrow over the incident and extend his condolences to the families of the soldiers.
