IIsrael's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that it was "reducing" working ties with 12 of the UN Security Council countries that voted to pass a resolution urging Israel to stop building settlements on the West Bankand Jerusalem. The PM’s spokesman and Ambassador to the US Ron Dermer spoke of “ironclad information” that the US administration had “helped craft and lobby for the resolution” and said they would submit the proof to the next administration on Jan. 20.
Two days ago, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu summoned 10 envoys to Jerusalem to reprimand them for the vote. He called the Obama administration’s refusal to block the resolution "shameful," "underhanded” and an abandonment of the longstanding US commitment to protect Israel at the UN.
