Iranian parliament Speaker Ali Larijani announced Tuesday that Tehran had complained to the JCPA Commission that the new US sanctions were a breach of the 2015 nuclear deal. This joint commission was set up by the world powers, Iran and the European Union to handle any complaints about the deal’s implementation. If it can’t resolve a dispute, the parties may turn to the UN Security Council. The US Congress voted for new sanctions after Iran tested a Simorgh rocket for boosting satellites into space last month.
